Cycles and Systems
Cycles and systems was a three month long inquiry based learning programme, integrating academic concepts with experiencial learning, executed at the GEMS Genesis Inernational school. The project embedded concepts from Math, language, Botany, anatomy, design and management. Children culminated their project after a week long workshop on deconstructing the cycle of waste and desgining a system of waste management with initial help by volunteers from across the world. The project ended with our children having designed a combination of learning tools and games along with public presentations on how to manage waste. Their culmination reflected evolved and indepth understanding of cycles and systems as universal concepts and a multitude of skills that they acquired in the process. My children, by then, were informed and responsible students, designing small systems for their own classroom and sharing their knowledge to continue the cycle of learning.
